I started Drew Law Therapy as a private practice, having retrained as a psychotherapist after several years in business.
I currently work both in the NHS and privately, and am well-versed in working with a broad range of issues; depression, anxiety, relationships, and frustrations with daily life. I work in a psychodynamic model, which is to say placing emphasis on your early emotional experiences of conflict and attachment.
I have three specialist areas of interest and research;
Siblings – I regard the patients early experience of sibling relationships and birth order to be of paramount importance. I feel these experiences influence our later relationships at work and in the family much more than is generally recognised.
Men – the mental health of men, particularly in their forties, is a growing concern. While news reports concentrate on suicide rates, there is a far larger problem with men only barely tolerating the stresses of their lives. The NHS is not addressing these needs well, so if this sounds like you, get in touch.
Musicians and singers – I am an experienced singer and work frequently with musicians around issues of performance anxiety and relationship issues with colleagues and family, using that knowledge of your particular needs.
